Helping with daily tasks for comfort.

Our CNAs (Certified Nursing Assistant) are trained to provide direct patient care at patient’s home. They assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and support the health and well-being of our patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

CNAs are trained and assigned to work at home only when the patient’s family member who has been trained in the care of the patient is also present at home.

Our CNAs are responsible for tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility assistance, meal preparation, and medication reminders, while also observing and reporting any changes in the patient’s condition.

Key Responsibilities of a CNA in Home Care:

  • Personal Care:

Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other hygiene tasks.

  • Mobility Assistance:

Helping patients with walking, transferring between bed and wheelchair, and other movements.

  • Meal Preparation and Feeding:

Preparing meals according to dietary restrictions and assisting with feeding as needed.

  • Medication Reminders:

Reminding patients to take their medications as prescribed but not administering medications themselves unless under direct supervision.

  • Monitoring Vital Signs:

Taking and recording vital signs like temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.

  • Documentation:

Maintaining accurate records of patient care, including vital signs, food and fluid intake, and any changes in the patient’s condition.

  • Light Housekeeping:

Maintaining a clean and safe environment for the patient, including light housekeeping tasks.

  • Emotional Support:

Providing companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.

  • Reporting Changes in Condition:

Notifying the supervising nurse or other healthcare professional of any changes in the patient’s health or behavior.

Other Potential Responsibilities:

  • Ambulation Support: Assisting with walking and using mobility aids.
  • Wound Care: Assisting with basic wound care as directed.
  • Catheter Care: Assisting with catheter care as directed.
  • Transportation: Providing transportation to appointments as needed.

In essence, our CNAs are a vital link between the patient and the care team, providing essential care and support to help patients maintain their independence and quality of life at home.
